The SECO 02959805 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMG432-MF2 configuration, designed for precision metal-turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the TP1501 manufacturer grade with a Duratomic CVD multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The 55-degree diamond insert shape (Shape Code D) provides a sharp, aggressive geometry suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes. The MF2 chip breaker geometry targets light-to-medium feeds on steel and cast iron workpieces. Each insert provides 4 usable cutting edges, lowering cost-per-edge for high-production environments.
This insert is intended for steel (ISO P), cast iron (ISO K), and hard material (ISO H) applications. Typical use cases include back turning, boring, facing, and general longitudinal turning on medium to large CNC turning centers. The negative rake angle and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge style handle interrupted cuts and scale passes without premature chipping. This insert is well suited for job shops, production machining departments, and tool cribs running continuous steel and cast iron operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement turning insert for DNMG-series toolholders using clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards; ISO code DNMG150408-MF2. Industry standard number DNMG432-MF2.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing any insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips or debris before inserting. Verify the insert is fully seated and the clamping mechanism is secure before resuming cutting operations.
