The SECO 02956343 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMG432-FF2 series, designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 55-degree diamond shape with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius. The insert carries a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating — TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr — that extends tool life in demanding cutting environments. With four cutting edges and a negative rake geometry, it delivers consistent performance in moderate-to-heavy stock removal. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop settings are the primary users.
This insert is engineered primarily for steel machining at material grades P10, P20, P30, and P35, and is also rated for stainless steel and cast iron applications. The FF2 chip breaker geometry and honed cutting edge style suit a broad range of operations including turning, facing, boring, and back turning. It is suited for both general production runs and finishing passes where consistent chip control is required. The insert holds to tolerance code M and clearance code N, making it compatible with standard DNMG toolholders that accept clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods.
Designed for use in standard DNMG toolholders with clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods. Compatible with ISO and ANSI tooling systems accepting the DNMG432 insert size. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO P); secondary rated materials are stainless steel (ISO M) and cast iron (ISO K).
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket and tighten the clamping mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque — do not rely on feel alone. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker for damage before each use; a chipped or worn edge can cause workpiece surface defects and accelerated toolholder wear.
