The SECO 02956329 is a CCMT-style indexable turning insert designed for precision metal removal in general turning, facing, and boring operations. It carries the industry standard designation CCMT32.52-M5 and ISO code CCMT09T308-M5. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide and features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, placing it in the TP2501 manufacturer grade. The 80-degree diamond shape with a 7-degree relief angle and M5 chip breaker geometry suits medium-depth roughing through semi-finishing passes. Two cutting edges are available per insert, and the cutting edge is chamfered and honed for edge stability. The neutral hand orientation accommodates standard right-hand toolholders. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments are the primary installers of this insert.
This insert is rated for primary use on steel workpiece materials (ISO P code, material grades P10, P20, P30, and P35) and secondarily suitable for stainless steel and cast iron (ISO M and K codes). Typical applications include OD turning, face turning, and boring on CNC lathes and turning centers where a screw-held CCMT insert pocket is specified. Insert seating and clamping is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully in the pocket and tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or damage before seating a new insert, as debris under the seat affects runout and edge life.
