The SECO 02956314 is a DCMT-style turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC turning operations. This insert features a 55-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating (TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr) engineered for wear resistance and thermal stability. The 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 1/64-inch corner radius make it well suited for light-to-medium roughing and finishing passes. With 2 cutting edges and a positive rake geometry, it reduces cutting forces and heat generation. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades are not the target here — this insert is specified and installed by machinists and CNC programmers in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is built for primary use on steel workpieces (ISO material code P) and is rated for stainless steel and cast iron as secondary materials (ISO codes M and K). The MF2 chip breaker geometry targets finishing and medium finishing operations. Applicable multi-use applications include turning, facing, boring, and back turning. The screw-held mounting method is standard for DCMT-series toolholders. This insert meets ANSI and ISO standards and carries the ISO code DCMT11T304-MF2, with an industry standard number of DCMT32.51-MF2.
Designed for DCMT-series screw-clamp toolholders compatible with DCMT32.51 insert geometry. Primary workpiece material is steel (P10, P20, P30, P35); secondary materials are stainless steel and cast iron. UNSPSC code 23242105.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing the insert. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-recommended screw for the DCMT-series toolholder to avoid insert rocking or premature edge failure. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut of 0.4409 inches as stated in the technical specifications.
