It features an 80-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation and a 0.0315 inch corner radius. The insert carries a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating — TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr — classified under manufacturer grade TP2501. With a 0.5 inch inscribed circle and two cutting edges, it delivers consistent chip control through the MF2 chip breaker geometry, which is optimized for light to medium finishing passes on steel and stainless steel. A licensed machinist or CNC operator typically installs and indexes this insert.
This insert is suited for facing, boring, and turning operations on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces. It is rated for material grades P10, P20, P30, and P35 under the ISO P and M classification system. The positive rake geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge reduce cutting forces during finishing cuts, making it a practical choice for both light roughing and fine finishing in production turning environments.
