A positive rake angle of 6 degrees and a 15-degree lead angle reduce cutting forces and help control chip formation across a broad range of workpiece materials. The 02952786 is rated for universal primary workpiece material application, covering material groups H, K, M, N, O, P, and S under ISO classification. Designed for use with X4-series indexable grooving toolholders that accept the X4GKR insert style and the 2503005 insert size code. Verify toolholder compatibility with the specific insert seat geometry before installation.
This insert is installed and indexed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or indexing any insert. Seat the insert fully and evenly in the toolholder pocket and secure the clamping mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure before resuming cutting. Inspect the cutting edge and seating surface for chips or debris before each indexing to prevent insert rocking and premature failure.
