The SECO 02899509 is a solid carbide milling insert designated by ANSI and ISO code LPHT060310TR-M06, carrying manufacturer grade MS2050. The insert features a rectangular shape with a right-hand cutting orientation, a positive rake angle of 11 degrees, and a T-Land cutting edge style. It measures 0.25 inches in width and 0.1252 inches in thickness, with an inscribed circle diameter of 0.25 inches. The PVD-applied TiAlN plus NbN dual coating provides thermal and wear resistance suited to demanding cut conditions. Two cutting edges are available per insert. The insert is held in the cutter body by screw clamp and is designed for single-sided use.
This insert is intended for milling applications where the primary workpiece material is superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S), with secondary suitability for steel and stainless steel (ISO codes P and M). It is commonly used in aerospace component machining, precision job-shop milling, and production environments where difficult-to-machine alloys are encountered. The M06 chip breaker geometry is optimized for stable chip formation across these material groups. Installation is performed by machinist or tooling technicians setting up milling cutter bodies in the LPHT-06 series.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the correct torque driver and manufacturer-recommended screw for the cutter body to ensure proper insert clamping without over-torquing the retention screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure accurate seating and edge geometry.
