The SECO 02899467 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI/ISO designation XOEX10T308R-M06 and manufactured to grade MS2050. The insert features a TiAlN and NbN PVD coating applied over a micrograin carbide substrate, delivering hardness and heat resistance needed when cutting superalloys and titanium. It has a parallelogram shape with a positive rake geometry and a 15-degree relief angle. The cutting edge is honed for edge stability, and the right-hand orientation suits standard XOEX-10 series tooling systems. Two cutting edges are available per insert, and the M06 chip breaker geometry manages chip flow across a wide range of feed rates in demanding materials.
This insert is designed for milling operations in aerospace, oil and gas, and high-performance machining environments where superalloys and titanium are the primary workpiece materials. It also performs in steel and stainless steel applications. Compatible cutter series include R217.69-10 and R220.69-10. The insert is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method, which is standard in this insert class. Typical users are machining centers running high-speed or high-feed milling passes where coating durability and edge integrity directly affect cycle time and tool life.
Designed for use in XOEX-10 series cutter bodies, specifically compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-10 and R220.69-10. Insert conforms to ANSI and ISO standard designation XOEX10T308R-M06.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians using the screw-clamp insert holding method standard to this cutter series. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified for the cutter body pocket screws and do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide insert. Inspect the cutter pocket seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert.
