The SECO 02898003 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit from the SD1105A series, designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. It measures 15.10 mm (0.5949 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 133.00 mm (5.2402 inches) and a 140-degree standard point angle for accurate entry and reduced thrust. The AlCrN coating extends tool life by improving heat resistance and reducing built-up edge. With two spiral flutes in a regular helix and a right-hand cutting direction, this drill is built for consistent chip evacuation and repeatable hole quality in production drilling applications.
This drill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, K, and H. It is a strong fit for CNC machining centers and production drilling operations where tight tolerances are required. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 16.00 mm diameter and no flats provides straightforward clamping in standard drill chucks or collet holders. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 83.00 mm (3.2702 inch) flute length support drilling depths up to 63.00 mm (2.4803 inches).
The 02898003 is part of the SECO SD1105A series and is sized for workpieces in ISO material groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), and H (hard materials). It is compatible with machine spindles and toolholders accepting a 16.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
This drill bit is installed by machinists and toolroom personnel into CNC machining centers or drill presses with appropriately sized collet chucks or drill chucks. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Verify shank seating and runout with a dial indicator before production use, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear. Consult machine and toolholder manufacturer guidelines for recommended clamping torque and projection length.
