The SECO 02897942 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It carries an AlCrN coating for heat and wear resistance and features a 140-degree split point that reduces walking and improves centering on entry. The bit measures 10.3 mm in diameter with an overall length of 118 mm (4.65 inches) and a flute length of 71 mm (2.80 inches). The straight-cylindrical shank measures 12 mm in diameter. This tool is suited for production and job-shop environments where consistent hole quality and tool life in hard or abrasive workpiece materials are required.
This drill is rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, and H. The SD1105A series is built for applications where standard HSS tooling falls short. Typical use cases include CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual drilling operations requiring tight diameter tolerance. The m7 diameter tolerance makes it appropriate for applications where hole size consistency is critical. The 6xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip clearance in moderate-depth holes up to 56 mm (2.20 inches).

This bit is intended for installation by machinists or tooling technicians in CNC or manual drilling setups. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet to the recommended engagement depth before operation. Ensure spindle runout is within acceptable limits to avoid premature edge wear on carbide tooling. Do not use this bit in hammer-drill or percussive mode, as impact loading will fracture the carbide substrate.
