The SECO 02897930 is a solid carbide jobber drill engineered for production drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Part of the SD1105A series, it features a 9.40 mm (0.3704 inch) diameter cutting edge with a 140-degree point angle optimized for fast penetration and self-centering entry. The AlCrN coating provides oxidation resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. With a right-hand spiral flute configuration and straight-cylindrical shank, this drill is designed for use in CNC machining centers and conventional drill presses operated by machinists and tool-room technicians.
This drill is suited for production and maintenance machining in shops working with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials classified under ISO material groups P, M, K, and H. The 6xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper hole applications within its maximum drilling depth of 49.00 mm (1.93 inches). The straight-cylindrical shank with 10.00 mm diameter seats directly in standard collet chucks and drill chucks without adapters. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant delivery at the workpiece is recommended for best tool life in harder alloys.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber drill for use in CNC machining centers, turret mills, and conventional drill presses accepting a 10.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and operation of carbide drills should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with speeds, feeds, and toolholding requirements for solid carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of runout before seating the shank, as excessive runout accelerates carbide breakage. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling per standard OSHA lockout-tagout procedures. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 49.00 mm (1.93 inches) without retracting to clear chips.
