The SECO 02897929 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. Built to the SD1105A series specification, it features a 140-degree point angle for aggressive penetration and reduced thrust, combined with an AlCrN (aluminum chromium nitride) coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The drill carries a 13/64 inch (0.3664 inch decimal) cutting diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 0.3940 inch in diameter. With an overall length of 4.0582 inches and a 2.4034-inch flute length, this bit suits production and job-shop drilling operations where tool life and dimensional consistency are critical.
This drill is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials, making it well suited for machining centers, CNC drilling operations, and manual drill press work in industrial and fabrication environments. The 6xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip evacuation depth for medium-depth holes. The two-flute, regular spiral geometry supports efficient chip removal in ferrous and hard material applications. This bit conforms to ANSI standards and is appropriate for precision production drilling where tolerance and repeatability matter.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or upgrade for jobber-length solid carbide drills in the 0.3500 to 0.4000 inch (9.00 to 10.00 mm) diameter range per the SD1105A series. Suitable for use with standard straight-shank drill chucks and ER collet systems accepting a 10.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck or collet are clean and undamaged before seating the shank. Set spindle speed and feed rate according to the workpiece material and machine capability — do not exceed the tooling or machine manufacturer's recommended parameters for solid carbide tooling. This drill does not support coolant-through delivery; apply external coolant or cutting fluid as appropriate for the workpiece material.
