The SECO 02897919 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It features an 8.5 mm (0.3349 inch) diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and an AlCrN coating for extended tool life and heat resistance. The bit runs a right-hand, regular spiral flute pattern with two flutes and a straight-cylindrical shank. Overall length is 103 mm (4.06 inches) with a flute length of 61 mm (2.40 inches). Belonging to SECO Series SD1105A, this bit meets ANSI standards and is built for machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production drilling operations where precision and repeatability are required.
This drill bit is intended for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials, corresponding to ISO workpiece material codes P, M, K, and H. It is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual operations where a 10 mm straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with the spindle or chuck. The 6xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports moderate-depth holes up to 49 mm (1.93 inches) in a single pass. It is a strong choice for production environments where consistent hole tolerance and surface finish are priorities.
Designed for use in drilling applications targeting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. Fits standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 10 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Part of SECO Series SD1105A, covering drill bit diameters in the 8.00 mm to 9.00 mm range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide cutting tools. Ensure the spindle speed and feed rate are set appropriately for the workpiece material and bit diameter before starting the cut — carbide is brittle and susceptible to chipping from incorrect feed rates or interrupted cuts. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet to the recommended grip depth and verify runout is within acceptable limits before drilling. Do not use coolant-through tooling paths with this bit, as it is not rated for through-coolant delivery.
