The SECO 02897916 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It features an 8.30 mm (0.3270 inch) cutting diameter and a 140-degree standard point angle that promotes accurate entry and reduces the force needed to break through hardened surfaces. The AlCrN (aluminum chromium nitride) coating improves heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in difficult cutting conditions. With a 2-flute right-hand spiral configuration and a 6xD flute-to-diameter ratio, this bit supports efficient chip evacuation through a 61.00 mm flute length. It is sized for use in precision machining operations where dimensional accuracy is critical.
This drill bit is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials in production and job-shop environments. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 10.00 mm in diameter and 40.00 mm in length, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems. The overall length of 103.00 mm and a maximum drilling depth of 49.00 mm accommodate typical through-hole and blind-hole applications in ferrous and hard-material workpieces. The SD1105A series is built to ANSI standards and is well suited for CNC machining centers and manual drill presses where consistent hole quality is required.
Designed for use in drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, H). Fits standard straight-shank drill chucks and collets accepting a 10.00 mm shank diameter. Part of the SECO SD1105A series.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling professional. Before mounting, ensure the machine spindle and chuck or collet are fully powered down and locked out. Verify the shank diameter matches the holder bore to prevent runout. No coolant-through capability is present on this tool, so adequate external or flood coolant should be applied per shop standards when drilling stainless steel or other difficult alloys.
