The SECO 02897901 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It carries an AlCrN coating for heat resistance and extended tool life under aggressive cutting conditions. The bit features a 140-degree drill point angle, a standard point type, and a right-hand spiral flute geometry for efficient chip evacuation. With an overall length of 3.5827 inches (91 mm) and a flute length of 2.0866 inches (53 mm), this bit fits standard drill chucks and machining center spindles. It is part of the SD1105A series and conforms to ANSI standards. Installation and use require no coolant-through capability.
This drill bit is intended for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials, covering ISO workpiece material codes P, M, K, and H. It is suited for production machining, job shop drilling, and maintenance operations where solid carbide tooling is required to hold tolerance in hard or abrasive workpiece materials. This bit is installed and removed by qualified machinists or CNC operators following standard tooling changeover procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before changing tooling. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before use, as solid carbide is sensitive to eccentric loading. No coolant-through capability is present on this bit; apply external coolant or cutting fluid as required by the workpiece material and cutting parameters.
