The SECO 02897897 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Measuring 6.8 mm (0.2679 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 91 mm (3.585 inches), this bit features an AlCrN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and hard-material applications. The 140-degree drill point angle reduces thrust force and improves centering, making it well suited for production drilling where accuracy and tool longevity are priorities. Two spiral flutes with a regular helix promote chip evacuation, and the right-hand cut geometry is compatible with standard drill chucks and CNC spindles.
This drill bit is built for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials, corresponding to ISO workpiece material codes P, M, K, and H. It fits drilling applications where a 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio is appropriate for controlled depth and rigidity. The straight-cylindrical shank at 8.00 mm (0.315 inches) seats securely in standard ER collet chucks, drill chucks, and hydraulic toolholders. It is used in job shops, production environments, and maintenance machining operations where consistent hole quality in tough materials is required.

This drill bit should be installed and operated by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and properly torqued before seating the shank. This bit does not support coolant-through delivery; use external coolant or cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace if edge condition is degraded.
