The SECO 02897891 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from solid carbide with an AlCrN (aluminum chromium nitride) coating, this bit delivers high wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting temperatures. The 140-degree point angle provides a self-centering, aggressive entry suited for hard and abrasive workpiece materials. At 3.5827 inches overall length with a 2.0866-inch flute length, it fits standard jobber-length drilling setups. Two spiral flutes in a regular helix clear chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole operations. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical contractors as well as machinists will find this bit appropriate for production and service drilling tasks.
This bit is engineered for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials, making it well suited to fabrication shops, mechanical contractors, and maintenance professionals working with ferrous and high-hardness workpieces. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.3150 inches diameter accepts standard drill chucks and collet holders. The SD1105A series targets applications requiring a 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio, supporting moderate depth drilling without tool deflection. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both production runs and one-off service work.

This bit is installed by a machinist or mechanical technician using a standard drill chuck or collet system; confirm the chuck capacity accepts a 0.3150-inch shank before mounting. Secure workpieces firmly before drilling to prevent tool breakage — solid carbide is rigid but brittle under lateral loading. De-energize and lock out any CNC spindle or power tool before changing bits. Coolant-through is not supported on this model; external flood or mist coolant is recommended when drilling deep holes in stainless steel or hard materials.
