The SECO 02897858 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit from the SD1105A series, designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. It features a 5.90 mm diameter cutting edge with a 140-degree standard point angle for improved centering and reduced thrust force. The AlCrN coating enhances heat resistance and wear life, making this bit well suited for dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. With a 2-flute spiral geometry and right-hand cutting direction, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and consistent hole quality. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators are the primary installers and users of this tool.
This drill bit is designed for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials, corresponding to material codes P, M, K, and H. It is a strong choice for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools where tight tolerances and consistent performance are required. The straight-cylindrical shank allows direct mounting in standard drill chucks and collet holders without adapters. With a 6xD flute-to-diameter ratio, it handles moderate-depth holes efficiently in production and toolroom environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit jobber drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools equipped with standard chucks or collet holders accepting a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools and machine tool operation. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and undamaged before seating the shank. Verify runout and tool projection are within acceptable limits for the application before commencing drilling. Follow all applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines when securing the tool and setting feed and speed parameters.
