The SECO 02897845 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built on the SD1105A series platform, it features a 3 mm diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and an AlCrN coating that extends tool life when cutting through abrasive and hard workpiece materials. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6 mm in diameter, making it compatible with standard chucks and toolholders. At 66 mm overall length with a 28 mm flute length, this bit delivers consistent chip evacuation through its two-flute, right-hand spiral configuration. It is sized for precision work where tight diameter tolerance is required.
This drill bit is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, and H. It is suited for production drilling in machining centers, CNC drilling operations, and manual machine tool setups where tool life and hole quality in tough materials are priorities. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports controlled drilling depth up to 23 mm. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended when drilling stainless steel or hard materials at elevated feed and speed rates.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and conventional drill presses where a straight-cylindrical shank jobber-length carbide drill bit is required for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials per ISO codes P, M, K, and H.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out. Ensure the chuck or collet is properly torqued to the toolholder specification and that the shank is fully seated before operation. External cutting fluid or coolant is recommended for stainless steel and hard material applications since this bit does not include coolant-through capability. Follow shop-floor feeds and speeds data appropriate for solid carbide tooling in the specific workpiece material.
