The SECO 02869724 is an indexable slotting cutter designed for disc milling operations in metalworking environments. Built on the Series 335.19 platform, it accepts SNHQ1204 inserts held by screw and features a staggered 9-insert arrangement across 18 teeth, delivering a neutral cutting direction with negative axial and radial rake geometry. The 8-inch cutter diameter and 1/4-inch cutting width make it well suited for producing consistent, tight-tolerance slots in stainless steel and steel workpieces. A 1-1/2-inch arbor hole and 3/8-inch keyway width provide solid, repeatable mounting on standard milling arbors. This cutter is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom professionals on horizontal or vertical milling machines.
This cutter is classified as a general-purpose disc milling tool with a primary workpiece material designation of P, covering carbon steels and stainless steels. It is used in production and job-shop environments where slotting, grooving, or gang milling operations require a large-diameter, multi-insert cutter. The 335.19 series toolholder style is compatible with standard arbor setups. The staggered tooth configuration helps distribute cutting forces and can improve surface finish in demanding materials. Maximum operating speed is rated at 8000 RPM, and maximum depth of cut reaches 2.512 inches, supporting a wide range of slotting depths in a single pass.
Compatible insert styles are SNHQ1204..L+R and 335.19-1204. Insert inscribed circle is 1/2 inch. This cutter body is part of the SECO 335.19 series platform. Confirm insert grade and geometry selection with application requirements before ordering inserts separately.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the cutter body from the arbor. Ensure the arbor, spacers, and keyway are clean and free of burrs before seating the cutter. Torque insert screws to the tool manufacturer's specification using the appropriate Torx or hex key; do not exceed rated RPM during operation.
