The SECO 02849150 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation XNEX040308R-M06 and manufacturer grade F40M. It features a trigon shape with six cutting edges and a double-sided design, maximizing the number of usable edges per insert. The PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN coating delivers thermal resistance and wear protection during demanding milling operations. At 0.1303 inches thick with a 0.0315-inch corner radius, this right-hand insert is engineered for screw-lock toolholders and operates with a negative rake geometry at a 32.6-degree rake angle. Machinists and CNC operators handling interrupted cuts, finishing, or semi-finishing passes will find this insert well suited to production environments.
This insert is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium — covering ISO material codes P, K, S, and N. The M06 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium cutting conditions across these material groups. Compatible cutter series include R217.96-04 and R220.96-04. The insert is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units, making it appropriate for shops stocking inserts in production quantities.

Installation is performed by machining technicians or CNC setup personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout control.
