The SECO 02829682 is an indexable boring bar designed for internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built in the SCLC toolholder style with a neutral rake angle of 0 degrees, it accepts a diamond-shaped insert with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and is held in place by a screw clamp mechanism. The steel shank measures 5/8 inch in diameter and 8 inches in overall length. A 95-degree lead angle geometry suits a wide range of internal bore finishing and roughing passes. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in demanding cutting conditions. No insert is included.
This boring bar is suited for machining shops and production environments performing internal diameter work. The 0.812-inch minimum bore diameter makes it appropriate for relatively small bores where rigidity and clearance are both critical. The screw-clamp insert retention method provides repeatable edge positioning during insert indexing, reducing setup time between passes. Machinists working with ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces in tight-tolerance boring applications will find the neutral rake geometry and coolant-through design well matched to those requirements.
Designed for use with CC..32.5. series diamond-shaped indexable inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. Insert is not included and must be sourced separately. Verify insert grade and geometry against the workpiece material and cutting parameters before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or indexing the boring bar. Secure the shank fully within the turret or boring head using the appropriate torque as specified by the machine tool manufacturer — do not rely on feel alone. Confirm insert seating and screw engagement before resuming cutting operations.
