The SECO 02828046 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation LNKT080508PPTN-M06 and manufacturer grade MK2050. It is a double-sided, rectangular insert with a negative rake angle of 15 degrees and four usable cutting edges, making it a cost-effective choice for high-volume milling operations. The insert features a dual PVD coating of TiSiN and TiAlN applied over a medium-grain solid carbide substrate, delivering heat resistance and wear life suitable for demanding interrupted or continuous cuts. Cutting-edge geometry is a T-Land style with a corner radius of 0.0315 inches and a 90-degree included angle. It is held in the cutter body by a screw-clamp method and is sized to the LNKT-08 series. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary installers.
This insert is designed primarily for milling cast iron, with secondary application in steel and hard materials. The MK2050 grade and PVD coating combination suits face milling, shoulder milling, and similar operations where consistent chip control is required. The M06 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-range depths of cut up to 0.2953 inches. Compatible cutter series is the R335.18 platform. Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the cutter body is de-energized and the spindle is fully stopped before changing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to the cutter body manufacturer torque specification for the screw clamp — do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide insert. Inspect the insert pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
