The SECO 02827870 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation XOMX120408TR-M12 and manufacturer grade MK2050. It is designed for indexable milling operations, seating into compatible SECO cutter bodies to remove material from cast iron, steel, and hard material workpieces. The insert features a PVD-applied dual-layer TiSiN and TiAlN coating over a medium-grain solid carbide substrate. With a positive rake angle of 10.4 degrees, a T-Land cutting edge style, and a right-hand cutting orientation, it delivers controlled chip formation across a range of milling applications. Two cutting edges are available per insert.

This insert is suited for face milling and shoulder milling operations in production and maintenance machining environments. Its primary workpiece material designation is cast iron (ISO code K), with secondary compatibility for steel (P) and hard materials (H). The M12 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-stock-removal passes. Typical users include CNC machinists and toolroom operators working on horizontal and vertical milling platforms. Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when tightening the insert clamping screw — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
