The SECO 02825959 is a Polycrystalline Cubic Boron Nitride (PCBN) turning insert in the DNGA 432 format, designed for high-speed, high-hardness material removal on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 55-degree diamond shape, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, a 0.0315-inch corner radius, and a flat-top chipbreaker geometry. The insert carries manufacturer grade CBN010, is uncoated (bright finish), and uses a negative rake, neutral hand orientation. With two cutting edges and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, it delivers consistent performance in demanding interrupted and continuous cut applications on hard materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in production turning operations.
This insert is engineered for primary use on hard materials (ISO material code H) and secondary use on super-alloys and titanium (ISO material code S). Typical applications include back turning, boring, facing, and standard OD turning. It is well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are critical. The flat-top chip geometry and chamfered-honed edge support stable cutting in hardened steels and similar workpiece materials at elevated surface speeds.
Designed for use in DNGA-style toolholders accepting a 432 insert size with clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods. Industry standard number DNGA432S-00420-L1-B and ISO code DNGA150408S-01020-L1-B are applicable reference designations for cross-referencing with compatible toolholder systems.
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping procedure for DNGA-style inserts. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the insert pocket and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before installation. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut specification of 0.0200 inches as stated by the manufacturer.
