The SECO 02823886 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation XOMX10T316TR-ME07 in manufacturer grade F40M. It features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive 20.4-degree rake angle, and a T-Land cutting edge style that promotes clean chip formation and edge stability. The insert is PVD-coated with a TiAlN and TiN multilayer finish for heat resistance and extended tool life. With 2 cutting edges, a corner radius of 0.0630 inches, and a maximum depth of cut of 0.3661 inches, this right-hand insert is designed for productive milling in demanding materials. It is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC milling platforms.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium across light to moderate roughing and semi-finishing operations. The ME07 chip breaker geometry supports consistent chip evacuation across variable feed rates. The fine-grain carbide substrate and PVD coating make it well-matched for applications involving difficult-to-machine alloys where edge toughness and thermal stability are priorities. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units per transaction.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-10 and R220.69-10 as specified by the manufacturer. Insert size code 10T316 places this insert in the XOMX-10 series tooling system.
Installation is performed by machinists using the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the cutter body specification. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before inserting or indexing cutting inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw threads for debris or damage before seating. Do not mix used and new inserts within the same cutter body, as uneven wear profiles affect balance and surface finish.
