The SECO 02823861 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation XOMX10T312TR-ME07 in manufacturer grade F40M. The insert features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive 20.4-degree rake angle, and a T-Land cutting edge style. It is coated with TiAlN and TiN applied via PVD process, providing thermal and wear resistance during aggressive milling operations. Two right-hand cutting edges are available per insert. The ME07 chip breaker geometry and fine-grain carbide substrate make this insert well suited for high-productivity face and shoulder milling across a range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC toolroom technicians are the primary users.
This insert is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Primary material application codes are P, K, and S, with secondary codes K and N. The XOMX10T312TR-ME07 geometry is engineered for demanding applications where consistent chip control and edge stability are required. It is a single-sided insert held in the cutter body by screw mounting. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and contour milling in precision machining environments, both job-shop and production settings.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer specification — do not over-tighten or cross-thread the screw. Inspect the insert pocket and screw threads for debris or wear before seating the insert. Confirm insert orientation and indexing position before resuming spindle operation.
