The SECO 02823858 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation XOEX10T316R-M06 in manufacturer grade F40M. This single-sided, parallelogram-shaped insert is designed for indexable milling operations in compatible cutter bodies. It features a PVD-applied dual-layer TiAlN and TiN coating over a fine-grain carbide substrate, a positive rake geometry at 15.1 degrees, and a honed cutting edge style. With two cutting edges, a 0.0630-inch corner radius, and a maximum depth of cut of 0.3819 inches, it delivers consistent performance in demanding metal removal applications. Installation is by screw-clamping method.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium in both roughing and semi-finishing scenarios. The M06 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium machining conditions across these material groups. The right-hand cutting orientation and 90-degree included angle make it appropriate for face milling and shoulder milling setups in production and job-shop environments. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and tooling technicians working in aerospace, general metalworking, and foundry applications are the primary users of this insert series.

Installation and replacement of indexable milling inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine fully de-energized and the spindle locked. Use the manufacturer-specified torque wrench and insert screw to seat the insert securely in the pocket; never hand-tighten without a torque tool. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or wear before seating a new insert. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine tool manufacturer guidelines when changing inserts at the spindle.
