The SECO 02823841 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XOEX10T304FR-E05, offered in manufacturer grade H15 with a bright, uncoated finish. This single-sided, right-hand parallelogram insert features two cutting edges, a positive rake angle of 21.6 degrees, a sharp cutting edge style, and a 15-degree relief angle. The insert measures 0.3819 inches in cutting edge effective length, 0.2717 inches inscribed circle diameter, and 0.1496 inches thick. It is held in the cutter body by a screw-type clamping method. Licensed HVAC techs, machinists, and toolroom professionals install this insert into compatible milling cutter bodies for high-efficiency material removal in non-ferrous metal applications.
This insert is designed primarily for milling non-ferrous metals, including aluminum alloys and other materials classified under ISO workpiece material code N. The positive rake geometry and sharp, uncoated micrograin carbide edge reduce cutting forces and built-up edge on soft, gummy, or highly abrasive non-ferrous stock. It is suited for both light finishing passes and moderate stock-removal operations in production and job-shop environments. The E05 chip breaker geometry supports chip control across a range of feed rates and depths of cut up to 0.3819 inches. Sold individually per package, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.

Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the spindle powered down and the machine in a locked-out, tagged-out state per applicable safety standards. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer to torque the clamping screw — do not over-tighten or substitute fasteners. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the insert to ensure proper contact and runout. Dispose of worn inserts in accordance with facility protocols for carbide tooling waste.
