The SECO 02822861 is a right-hand DVJN-style indexable turning toolholder designed for general-purpose lathe work. It features a negative rake angle of -4.5 degrees and a 93-degree lead angle, making it well suited for external turning operations requiring stable, high-clearance cutting geometry. The shank measures 0.75 inches wide by 0.75 inches tall and the tool reaches an overall length of 4.5 inches. It accepts VNMG 332 inserts secured by a dual-clamp holding method. Machinists and CNC operators working across a wide range of workpiece materials will find this holder a reliable production tool.
This toolholder is intended for right-hand turning applications on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. The dual-clamp insert retention system provides secure seating under interrupted cuts and heavier feeds. Primary workpiece material compatibility covers a broad spectrum, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, and heat-resistant superalloys, corresponding to ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. Coolant-through capability is not included in this design.
Designed to accept VNMG 332 inserts with compatible insert size code VN33 and an inscribed circle of 0.375 inches. No coolant-through inserts are compatible with this holder.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the toolholder from the turret or tool post. Ensure the shank seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before clamping. Follow the machine manufacturer torque specifications for turret bolts and verify tool height to centerline before returning the machine to operation.
