The SECO 02792398 is a VNGA-style polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN) turning insert carrying manufacturer grade CBN060K with a multilayer TiAlSiN PVD coating. The insert features a 35-degree diamond shape (V), a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/64-inch corner radius, and a flat-top chip breaker geometry with negative rake and zero relief angle. Four cutting edges are available per insert, and the chamfered and honed cutting edge style supports interrupted and continuous cuts on hard and difficult-to-machine workpieces. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists use this insert in production environments where hardened steels and superalloys demand extended tool life beyond what carbide can deliver.
This insert is rated for primary use on hard materials (ISO code H, material grades H10 and H20) and secondary use on super-alloys and titanium (ISO code S). It is suited for back turning, facing, profiling, and general turning operations. The VNGA flat-top series is designed for negative-rake toolholders that accept clamp, pin, or lever-lock insert holding methods. It meets both ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO designation of VNGA160404S-01525-L1-U and an industry standard number of VNGA331S-00625-L1-U.

This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Use the correct torque and clamping method specified by the toolholder manufacturer — clamp, pin, or lever-lock as required. Inspect the insert seat and toolholder pocket for chips or debris before seating; contamination will affect insert alignment and edge life.
