The SECO 02790655 is a DNMG432-MF2 series indexable turning insert in grade TH1000, manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer TiAlSiN coating applied by PVD process. It features a 55-degree diamond shape with a negative rake geometry and a chamfered and honed cutting edge for controlled entry into the cut. The insert offers four cutting edges, a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0315 inch corner radius. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.5787 inches and an insert length of 1.2204 inches, it is designed for high-performance turning on CNC lathes and machining centers. Installation is performed by qualified machinists and tooling technicians.
This insert is optimized for machining superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, corresponding to ISO material codes S and H, with secondary suitability for cast iron applications (code K). The MF2 chip breaker geometry suits medium to finishing cuts and supports back turning, boring, facing, and turning operations. It is compatible with DNMG-style insert pockets requiring a clamp, pin, or lever lock holding method. The clearance code is N and the tolerance code is M, aligning with standard DNMG toolholder pocket specifications. This insert conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with ISO designation DNMG150408-MF2 and industry standard number DNMG432-MF2.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for DNMG432-MF2 style insert pockets with clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. Compatible with toolholders accepting a 0.5 inch inscribed circle DNMG insert with clearance code N and tolerance code M.
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians using the appropriate DNMG-style toolholder with a clamp, pin, or lever lock mechanism. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and seating procedure specified by the toolholder manufacturer to properly seat the insert and avoid micro-fracture of the cutting edge. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
