The SECO 02789773 is an indexable high-feed end mill designed for aggressive milling operations at shallow depths of cut. It accepts three LP06-style inserts held by screw clamping and delivers consistent performance in high-feed milling strategies. The cutter features a 0.709-inch maximum cutting diameter, a 0.63-inch modular shank with an M10 modular connection, and an overall length of 160 inches. Through-coolant capability directs fluid directly to the cutting zone, extending insert life and improving chip evacuation in demanding applications.
This end mill is suited for high-feed face milling and ramping operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials on CNC machining centers. The toolholder style is R217.21, and the maximum ramping angle of 3.5 degrees allows controlled plunge entries. It is typically installed by machinists and tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments running medium to high spindle speeds up to 35,000 RPM. The minimum cutting diameter is 0.41 inches, giving operators some flexibility in programmed toolpath width.
Designed for use with R217.21-style toolholder systems and LP06 indexable inserts. The M10 modular connection is required for proper mounting.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with CNC toolholder assemblies. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing the cutter body. Confirm the modular connection is fully seated and torqued per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before operation. Verify insert seating and screw torque before each run to prevent insert movement at elevated RPM.
