The SECO 02789610 is an LPHT060310TR-ME05 solid carbide milling insert designed for use in indexable milling cutters on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Manufactured to grade F40M with a fine-grain carbide substrate, it features a PVD-applied TiAlN plus TiN dual coating that supports high cutting speeds and extended tool life. The insert has a rectangular shape with a positive rake angle of 16 degrees, a T-Land cutting edge style, and two usable cutting edges per insert. The ME05 chip breaker geometry is engineered to promote controlled chip formation across a range of workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for milling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. It is a right-hand, single-sided insert held in place by a screw clamp and is compatible with cutters in the R217.21-LP06 and R220.21-LP06 series. Typical applications include shoulder milling and general-purpose face milling in both production and job-shop environments. Machinists and tooling specialists working in aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking will find this insert well-suited to light-to-medium roughing and semi-finishing passes.
Compatible with R217.21-LP06 and R220.21-LP06 cutter series. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard replenishment insert for LPHT-06 series milling bodies conforming to ISO standards. ANSI and ISO code: LPHT060310TR-ME05.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following the machine tool manufacturer and cutter body specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe lockout state before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque driver for the clamping screw to avoid over-tightening, which can crack the insert or damage the pocket. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installing a new insert.
