The SECO 02789595 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation LPHT060310TR-M06 in manufacturer grade MS2500. The insert features a rectangular shape with a positive rake geometry and a T-Land cutting edge style, engineered for controlled chip formation in demanding milling applications. A CVD-applied TiCN plus Al2O3 coating delivers thermal resistance and wear protection at the cutting edge. Two usable cutting edges are available on this single-sided, right-hand insert, which measures 0.25 inches wide and 0.1252 inches thick with a maximum depth of cut of 0.3343 inches. It is held in place by a screw and is designed for licensed machinists and tooling specialists working in high-performance milling environments.
This insert is suited for milling superalloys and titanium as its primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for steel and stainless steel. The M06 chip breaker geometry supports stable chip evacuation in medium-to-finishing passes. Typical installation scenarios include face milling and shoulder milling operations on aerospace, energy, and general precision machining components where superalloy and titanium workpieces are common. The insert falls within the LPHT-06 series and is compatible with SECO cutter bodies R217.21-LP06 and R220.21-LP06.
Compatible with SECO cutter body series R217.21-LP06 and R220.21-LP06. Designed for use in LPHT-06 series milling systems. Primary workpiece materials are superalloys and titanium; secondary materials include steel and stainless steel.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians using the screw-holding method standard to this insert style. Ensure the cutter body is fully de-energized and the spindle is locked before seating or replacing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex driver to secure the clamping screw without over-torquing the insert pocket. Inspect the seating pocket for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout accuracy.
