The SECO 02787056 is a VNMG332-FF2 series cermet turning insert with a TiAlSiN PVD multilayer coating and manufacturer grade TP1030. Designed for precision external turning operations, this insert features a 35-degree diamond shape (Insert Shape Code V), a neutral hand orientation, and a negative rake geometry. The FF2 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation across a range of cutting conditions. With four usable cutting edges and a honed cutting edge style, this insert is suited for productive use in CNC and manual turning applications by machinists and tooling specialists working with steel and stainless steel workpieces.
This insert is intended for general turning, facing, back turning, and profiling operations on steel (ISO code P) and stainless steel (ISO code M) workpieces. The TP1030 grade with TiAlSiN PVD coating is targeted at P10 and P15 material grades, making it well suited for finishing to light roughing cuts where dimensional consistency and surface finish are priorities. It is compatible with toolholders designed for VNMG-style inserts using clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods.
Designed for use with VNMG-style toolholders accepting clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods. Fits applications targeting ISO P10 and P15 steel and stainless steel workpiece materials. Industry standard number VNMG332-FF2; ISO equivalent VNMG160408-FF2.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Verify the toolholder pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips or debris before indexing or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench per the toolholder manufacturer specifications when tightening clamp screws. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker condition before each setup to confirm the correct edge is engaged.
