The SECO 02779753 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation XNEX080608R-M08 in manufacturer grade F40M. It features a trigon shape with six cutting edges, a right-hand cut orientation, and a negative rake geometry with a 24-degree rake angle. The insert is coated via PVD process with a TiAlN and TiN multilayer finish for wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. At 0.2539 inches thick with a 0.4913-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0315-inch corner radius, this double-sided insert is suited for indexable milling operations targeting steel, cast iron, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It is installed by milling machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
The XNEX080608R-M08 is designed for use in the SECO R220.96-08 cutter series. It is applicable in both roughing and semi-finishing milling passes across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials including steel (P), cast iron (K), superalloys and titanium (S), and non-ferrous metals (N). With a maximum depth of cut of 0.2953 inches and a cutting edge effective length of 0.2953 inches, it is suited for production milling environments running both horizontal and vertical machining centers.
Designed for use with the SECO R220.96-08 cutter series. Insert style is XNEX, series XNEX-08, with screw-type insert holding. ANSI and ISO code: XNEX080608R-M08.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the cutter body specification — do not overtorque the mounting screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert edge.
