The SECO 02772728 is an indexable square-shoulder end mill built for high-productivity face and shoulder milling operations in steel, cast iron, and other common workpiece materials. It runs on the Turbo 10 platform, accepting XO.X 10T3.. style inserts secured by screw-in clamping for repeatable edge positioning. The 1-1/4 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 1-1/4 inch cylindrical shank and a 7.677 inch overall length, making this toolholder suitable for moderate-reach applications on CNC machining centers. Through-coolant capability directs fluid directly to the cutting zone, supporting chip evacuation and insert life at elevated feed rates. This holder carries a 90-degree lead angle and a negative rake geometry for strength and stability under interrupted-cut conditions. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary end users.
This end mill is designed for use on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers in job shop, production, and toolroom environments. The Turbo 10 series platform is suited for square-shoulder milling, full-slot entry, and ramping applications where consistent wall perpendicularity is required. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.354 inches and support for up to 5 cutting inserts across its 5 flutes, it handles both roughing and semi-finishing passes. The 20,800 RPM maximum speed rating allows use at aggressive spindle speeds on modern high-speed machining centers. Through-coolant compatibility makes it well matched to enclosed CNC machines with coolant delivery systems.
Designed for use with XO.X 10T3.. insert style inserts; complete insert compatibility includes XOEX and XOMX insert families. ISO toolholder designation R217.69-01.25-0-10-5A. Part of the SECO Turbo 10 series platform.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all energy is isolated before mounting or removing the toolholder. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert screws specified for XO.X 10T3.. inserts to seat each insert correctly — do not overtighten with improvised tools. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting and before commencing a cut, and confirm coolant passages are clear and unobstructed when through-coolant is in use.
