The SECO 02772713 is an indexable square-shoulder end mill from the Turbo 10 series, designed for high-efficiency milling operations in steel and other workpiece materials. It carries a 1-inch cutting diameter, accepts four XO.X 10T3.. inserts secured by screw-clamping, and delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.354 inches. The 90-degree lead angle ensures a true square shoulder in the cut. With a maximum spindle speed of 23,500 RPM and through-coolant capability, this tool is built for modern CNC machining centers where thermal management and chip evacuation are critical. Machinists and toolroom technicians working in job shops, production facilities, or maintenance environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for square-shoulder milling and slotting applications on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive and resistance to pull-out under aggressive cutting conditions. The negative rake insert geometry supports interrupted cuts and harder workpiece materials. Through-coolant delivery reaches the cutting zone directly, reducing heat buildup and extending insert life. Compatible insert styles include XOEX and XOMX in the 10T3 size class (insert designation XO.X 10T3..). This is an OEM Turbo 10 series body; use SECO-specified inserts for proper seating and clamping torque.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC toolroom technicians. The Weldon flat shank requires a matching end mill holder with a set screw aligned to the flat; ensure the holder bore diameter is 1 inch. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or indexing inserts. Do not exceed the maximum rated spindle speed of 23,500 RPM, and verify through-coolant passages are clear before mounting the tool in the spindle.
