The SECO 02768593 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation XOMX10T308TR-M09 in the MS2500 manufacturer grade. It features a parallelogram shape with a positive rake angle of 10.6 degrees and a T-Land cutting edge style, making it well-suited for demanding material removal applications. The insert is CVD-coated with TiCN and Al2O3 layers for high heat resistance and wear life. With two cutting edges per insert and a right-hand orientation, it delivers consistent performance in high-speed face and shoulder milling operations. Screw-style insert holding ensures secure seating in the cutter body.
This insert is designed primarily for machining superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S), with secondary application in steel and stainless steel (ISO codes P and M). It is used in industrial CNC milling operations, typically on horizontal and vertical machining centers running production or job-shop work. The M09 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-grain cutting conditions common in aerospace and precision manufacturing environments. Minimum order quantity is 10 inserts; package quantity is 1.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-10 and R220.69-10 as stated by the manufacturer. Primary workpiece materials are superalloys and titanium; secondary materials are steel and stainless steel.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the cutter body pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before inserting. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw — do not over-torque, as solid carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under excessive clamp load. Verify correct insert orientation (right-hand) before engaging the spindle.
