The SECO 02768583 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XOMX10T308TR-M09 in the SECO MK1500 manufacturer grade. It is a single-sided, parallelogram-shaped insert with a positive rake geometry, a T-land cutting edge style, and a CVD-applied Duratomic coating of TiCN and Al2O3. The insert seats via a screw-clamping method and is engineered for right-hand cutting. With 2 cutting edges, a 0.0315-inch corner radius, and a maximum depth of cut of 0.3661 inches, this insert is suited for productive face and shoulder milling of cast iron workpieces. Machinists and CNC tooling technicians working in metalworking and precision machining environments are the primary installers.
This insert is intended for cast iron milling applications, identified by primary workpiece material code K under the ISO classification system. The positive rake angle of 10.6 degrees and micrograin carbide substrate support stable cutting action in gray and ductile cast iron. It is compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-10 and R220.69-10. The M09 chip breaker geometry controls chip evacuation at moderate feed rates typical in production and job shop milling operations. Minimum order quantity is 10 pieces; each package contains 1 insert.
Designed for use with SECO cutter series R217.69-10 and R220.69-10. ANSI and ISO code XOMX10T308TR-M09 confirms fitment in any toolholder specifying that designation within the XOMX-10 series.
Installation is performed by machining technicians following standard insert indexing procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Verify correct seating and clearance before resuming cutting operations.
