Coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, it is engineered for high-performance milling of steel, stainless steel, and hard materials. The insert features a micrograin carbide substrate, a negative rake geometry with a 27-degree rake angle, and a T-Land cutting edge style. With six usable cutting edges on a double-sided body, it delivers extended tool life per insert. It is sized to ANSI and ISO standard XNEX040308TR-M08 and is held in the toolholder by screw clamping. Installation and indexing are handled by qualified machinists and CNC tooling technicians.
This insert is suited for face milling and shoulder milling operations on steel, stainless steel, and hard workpiece materials in both production and job-shop environments. It is designed for right-hand cutting and accommodates a maximum depth of cut of 0.1575 inches. The M08 chip breaker geometry promotes reliable chip evacuation across the targeted material groups. The insert is compatible with SECO cutter series R217.96-04 and R220.96-04 milling bodies.
Compatible with SECO milling cutter series R217.96-04 and R220.96-04. Rated for primary application in hard materials (ISO H) and secondary application in steel and stainless steel (ISO P and M workpiece material groups).
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Shut down the machine spindle and lock out power before handling inserts or toolholders. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper support and runout.
