The SECO 02755048 is a VBMT-style solid carbide turning insert with a 35-degree diamond shape, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a multilayer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating under the CP500 manufacturer grade, which supports high cutting temperatures and wear resistance in demanding applications. The insert features a neutral hand orientation, a 0.0157 inch corner radius, and an MF2 chip breaker geometry with a chamfered and honed cutting edge. With two cutting edges and a positive rake angle, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in indexable toolholders for general turning and finishing work.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, profiling, and back turning operations on stainless steel as its primary workpiece material, with secondary capability on steel, cast iron, and super-alloys and titanium. It fits the VBMT series ISO code VBMT110204-MF2, industry standard number VBMT21.51-MF2, and targets material grades M10, M20, and M30. The 0.25 inch inscribed circle and screw-holding method make it compatible with standard VBMT indexable toolholders used in production and job-shop environments. Installation is performed by a CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before each index to ensure proper insert contact and prevent premature edge failure.
