The SECO 02755043 is a TCMT-style triangular carbide turning insert designed for precision finishing operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured to the TCMT 21.51MF2 geometry with a CP500 grade designation, this insert features a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating that delivers moderate-to-high wear resistance with strong toughness across multiple workpiece material categories. The 60-degree triangular shape provides three usable cutting edges, and the MF2 chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing cuts. The inscribed circle measures 0.25 inches, insert thickness is 0.0937 inches, and the corner radius is 0.0157 inches. It is held in the toolholder by a screw clamp and carries a positive rake with positive side clearance for efficient chip evacuation.
This insert is intended for finishing operations on stainless steel as its primary workpiece material, and is also rated for steel, cast iron, and superalloys including titanium. Application scope spans material grade classifications M10, M20, and M30. It is suited for back turning, boring, facing, and general turning on both CNC and conventional lathes in production and job-shop environments. Licensed machinists, CNC programmers, and toolroom technicians will recognize the TCMT form factor as a standard indexable insert geometry across a wide range of ANSI and ISO-compliant toolholders. Maximum depth of cut is 0.3937 inches.
Designed for use in ANSI TCMT 21.51 and ISO TCMT 110204 compatible toolholders. Fits screw-clamp style boring bars and turning tool bodies that accept TCMT-form inserts with a 0.1142-inch hole diameter. Multi-use application across back turning, boring, facing, and turning operations.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key for the clamp screw and ensure the insert seats fully and evenly in the pocket before tightening. Do not index a worn insert mid-cut; stop the machine, clear chips, and inspect the pocket for damage before seating the new edge.
