The SECO 02755042 is a solid carbide turning insert in the SCMT-MF2 series, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC turning, boring, and facing operations. It carries grade CP500 with a multilayer PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN coating for extended tool life under demanding conditions. The insert features a 3/8 inch inscribed circle, a 1/32 inch corner radius, and a 90-degree square shape with a chamfered and honed cutting edge. With four usable cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation, this insert delivers consistent performance across a range of material applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible screw-clamping toolholders.
This insert is engineered primarily for stainless steel machining and is also rated for steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium. The MF2 chip breaker geometry is suited for medium finishing to medium roughing passes in turning centers and boring bars. It is applicable to facing, boring, and external turning operations, making it a versatile choice for job shop and production turning environments that require reliable chip control across multiple material grades.
Designed for use in SCMT-style screw-clamp turning toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO standards. Matches ISO code SCMT09T308-MF2 and industry standard number SCMT32.52-MF2 for cross-reference with compatible toolholder systems.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamp screw to seat the insert without over-tightening. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp seat for debris or damage before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
