The SECO 02754822 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT 32.52-MF2 series, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC turning centers and manual lathes. It features a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating applied over a carbide substrate, delivering heat resistance and edge durability across a range of workpiece materials. The insert carries an 80-degree diamond shape with a neutral hand orientation, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. The MF2 chip breaker geometry produces a chamfered and honed cutting edge suited for finishing and medium turning passes. Screw-style insert holding keeps the insert positively located in compatible toolholders.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, and boring operations on stainless steel as its primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium. It fits production and job-shop environments where ISO material group M, P, K, and S workpieces are common. Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Use the manufacturer-specified torque driver for the clamping screw to ensure proper seating without cracking the carbide substrate. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seat for chips or debris before inserting. Do not use an insert with visible edge chipping or substrate cracking.
