The SECO 02754812 is a cermet turning insert in the CCMT32.51F1 geometry, designed for precision metal removal in CNC turning operations. It carries manufacturer grade TP1030 and features a TiAlSiN multilayer PVD coating for thermal and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The insert has a neutral hand, an 80-degree diamond shape, and a sharp cutting edge style with an F1 chip breaker. Inscribed circle diameter is 0.375 inches with a corner radius of 0.0157 inches (1/64 inch). The positive rake geometry promotes lower cutting forces, making it well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on steel and stainless steel.
This insert is intended for use in CNC lathes and turning centers running ferrous workpiece materials, primarily steel (ISO P) and stainless steel (ISO M), with material grades P10 and P15. Typical applications include external and internal turning, facing, and boring operations requiring consistent surface finish and tight tolerances. The screw-holding method provides secure clamping in standard CCMT-compatible toolholders. Sold individually per package; minimum order quantity is 10 inserts.
Designed for use in CCMT-compatible screw-clamp toolholders. ISO code CCMT09T304-F1; industry standard number CCMT32.51-F1. Suitable for primary workpiece material steel (code P) and secondary workpiece material stainless steel (code M) at material grades P10 and P15.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is stopped and all axis motion is locked before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to torque the clamp screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification — do not over-tighten, as this can fracture the insert. Inspect the insert seat and clamp for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper support and edge height.
