The SECO 02754785 is a CCGT-series solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual lathe applications. Grade CP500 with a multilayer PVD TiAlN and TiN coating delivers wear resistance and heat management at the cutting edge. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 0.0157-inch corner radius, and a positive rake geometry with an MF2 chip breaker — a combination suited for finishing and light roughing passes. Two cutting edges per insert and screw-type holding make it a practical choice for production turning environments where insert cost and edge life matter.
This insert is rated primarily for stainless steel (ISO material group M) and is also applicable to steel, cast iron, and super-alloys including titanium (ISO groups P, K, and S). Typical applications include boring, facing, and turning operations. The neutral hand orientation and CCGT geometry make it compatible with a wide range of toolholders designed to accept C-shape inserts with the corresponding tolerance and clearance codes. Insert installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket before engaging the clamping screw. Inspect the pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris prior to installation, as contamination can cause insert rocking and premature edge failure. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's torque specifications for the clamping screw — do not overtighten.
