The SECO 02754227 is a CCGT-series solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC turning, boring, and facing operations. It carries a multilayer TiAlN and TiN PVD coating in the CP500 manufacturer grade, providing wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a 0.2500-inch inscribed circle, and a corner radius of 0.0039 inches. The MF2 chip breaker geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge make this insert well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tooling component.
This insert is intended primarily for machining stainless steel, with secondary suitability for steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium. It is rated for material grades M10, M20, and M30 under ISO classification. Typical applications include OD turning, boring, and facing operations on CNC lathes and turning centers where close tolerances and surface finish quality are priorities. The neutral hand orientation allows use in a range of standard CCGT-compatible toolholders. The MF2 chip breaker geometry is particularly effective at light to moderate depths of cut in gummy or work-hardening materials such as austenitic stainless steel.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is removed or safely locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamping screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not over-tighten the clamping screw, as this can fracture the carbide insert. Inspect the toolholder seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating the new insert.
