The SECO 02743152 is a solid carbide cutoff and parting insert in the 150.10 series, designed for precision grooving and parting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. This single-end insert carries a CP500 manufacturer grade with a micrograin carbide substrate and a PVD-applied TiAlN/TiN multilayer coating. The 2.49mm (0.0980 inch) cutting width and 6-degree neutral lead angle deliver controlled chip flow and consistent surface finish across a universal range of workpiece materials. The corner radius measures 0.0070 decimal inch, supporting accurate shoulder definition on parting cuts. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and tooling technicians using a clamp-style insert holding system.
The 02743152 is suited for parting and cutoff applications on ferrous and non-ferrous materials in both production and job-shop turning environments. The neutral hand orientation allows use on standard right-hand toolholders configured for cutoff work. The CP500 grade and PVD TiAlN/TiN finish make this insert a strong candidate for dry or semi-dry cutting conditions where heat resistance and edge retention are priorities. Chipbreaker style 14 provides chip control geometry appropriate for the insert seat size 2.5 class of toolholders. This insert is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with insert seat size 2.5 clamp-style toolholders in the SECO 150.10 series configured for cutoff and parting operations.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a full lockout/tagout state before any insert change. Verify the toolholder clamp and seat are free of chips and burrs before seating the insert. Consult the toolholder manufacturer's torque specification for the clamp screw — do not overtighten. Confirm coolant nozzle alignment after insert installation before resuming cutting.
